I had the pleasure of photographing Erin and Corey in Cape Cod. While I have visited Cape Cod at least once a year my entire life, this was my first wedding in this beautiful place. It was a whirlwind of a day with many different locations all over the Cape. We began the day with the guys getting ready in Bourne, MA — learning how to tie bow ties, ironing shirts and putting on a set of custom engraved cufflinks. After we got the guys all set and ready it was off to the girls in Mashpee, MA. As we arrived, Erin was getting the final touches on her hair and makeup, which allowed us a little time to be able to set up her dress in a few different spots to capture it in its entirety. With hair and makeup done, it was now Erin’s time to get into her wedding dress. Her Maid of Honor (who happens to be her sister) was helping Erin button up her dress — it was one of the fastest and most efficient buttoning up of a bridal gown that I have ever seen!
With both the bride and groom all dressed and ready, it was now time for them to get married! They chose to get married at Saint Thomas Chapel, a beautiful old chapel right on the Falmouth Harbor. It was a lovely traditional Catholic ceremony in an exquisite chapel. Following the ceremony, we went down to the harbor to create a few images with all the boats and ocean in the background.
Now it was time for the reception at the Popponesset Inn — a picturesque venue right on the ocean. They had such a perfect beach wedding, with beachy themes throughout all the wedding details. From the anchors on the bowties, suspenders, and pocket squares to the sand dollar nametags for all the guests, every detail was well thought out. I particularly loved their cake, which featured shells, sea horses, and was topped with two “Mr & Mrs.” wooden beach chairs. As the sun was setting, I was able to steal the two newlyweds and go out to the beach for some sunset and dusk photos. Even wearing a wedding dress and tux, the two of them looked like they belonged on the beach — they are so natural together and having the ocean and sand in the background completed the picture. We headed back inside for some special dances and a fun game of left right set to a story of how Erin and Corey ended up together and their journey to their wedding day.
I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to photograph this wonderful couple, family, ceremony and reception.
And now without further adieu, I give you their wedding photos and a peek into their love story.

Erin and Corey’s Wedding Date | 7/24/2016
How did you decide on your ceremony/reception location?
Corey and I spent all our summers together on Cape Cod and because he was a lifeguard, much of that time was spent on the beach. When we saw the Poppy Tent right on the beach by the ocean, we knew that that was the place that meant the most to us and our relationship. We have also camped on many of the cape cod beaches! Saint Thomas Chapel was chosen because that was a place that I grew up going to. My Dad and I would run to the church and go to mass in the summer when we would be on the Cape in Falmouth. It has always had a special place in my heart.
When did you know he/she was the one?
Love grows with time. We were very young when we started dating and we already had so many commonalities with each other starting with running. We love spending time together, we like the same music, the same movies, and the same activities. We are also yin and yang, but that is something we both realized worked really well together as we got older and started to hit more real-life situations. We have been through a lot of different times together, but there is no one else we would rather face life with!
What’s the one thing you love most about each other?
What I love most about Corey is his patience and thoughtfulness. He always wants to make me happy and he has such a gentle soul. He is also one of the funniest/oddest people I have ever met, so there is never a dull moment when I am around him. What Corey loves the most about Erin is that she makes him breakfast and lunch every day and hopes that it will never stop! He also loves how hard-working and dedicated she is.
Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you were looking forward to on your wedding day?
The first dance — we picked a song (Leather and Lace by Don Henley and Stevie Nicks) that had a lot of meaning to us and our relationship. Corey would play the song whenever he would be leaving me after a visit to try and make me cry. (He meant it as a joke, but I always did.)
“You in the moonlight
With your sleepy eyes
Could you ever love a man like me
And you were right
When I walked into your house
I knew I’d never want to leave”
We knew that even though there was always a good-bye, we would reach a point where we wouldn’t have to ever say goodbye again and we could always be together.
What are your honeymoon plans?
We are going to San Diego, CA! We are going to go to the San Diego Zoo, some of the battleship museums, and rent some bikes and hit the beaches!
I hope that you have enjoyed Erin and Corey’s story and their wedding photos! They were a blast to work with for their wedding and their engagement session. If you haven’t seen that then definitely take a look!
