Last fall at the end of my 2015 wedding season, I took off my first free weekend in months! I spent the whole weekend just relaxing and wandering around the city of Boston, MA creating images just for fun. It is probably funny to think that after taking thousands and thousands of photos day in and day out that I would want to do anything other than that to relax — but that isn’t the case. When I am taking photos and creating it is very pleasant and a meditative experience — very relaxing. Walking around Boston was a great time to reflect on the past season and all that I had planned to do in the offseason.
I have written before about the importance of personal work, and how that fosters creativity. That was one thing I vowed to do in this offseason — to create more, just for myself. At the start of the year, I began a photo of the day project. While it isn’t as strict as my 365 project, where I made sure I took one photo every day and didn’t miss one — I am still creating images every day. You can check out the project on my Instagram profile @LeeGPhoto. Also while we are talking about Instagram, I recently started a new profile that is a feature gallery of just my wedding work @LGPWeddings — Take a look, there is much more to come :)
Now here we are at the end of April, with my first wedding tomorrow to kick off the 2016 wedding season. I am so looking forward to all my weddings this year. It is going to be a great wedding season.
I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from my weekend photo walk in Boston.
