Location | Downtown Keene, NH
We had a lovely spring day for Jen & Jared’s engagement session. Jen & Jared were looking for a mixture of urban and natural photos for their session, so downtown Keene, NH was perfect for them! All within a short walk of downtown there are so many varied locations for photography — from old brick buildings, reflective metallic walls, to birch tree groves — the list goes on. We had a great time exploring and creating some images to exhibit the connection that they both share.
We are all super excited for their upcoming wedding in October this fall. Now let’s get into the photos and how their love story came to be!
I hope you enjoy Jen and Jared’s Engagement session!
How long have you been together?
We have been together for almost 5 years (in August) although we celebrate our anniversary in October (the weekend we get married will be our fifth anniversary together)
Tell us how you first met.
We first met in March of 2007 when I was a senior in high school and Jared was a sophomore in college. We originally met through a mutual friend. A couple of months later I started working at the Keene Recreation Center’s Summer program where Jared also worked. After a few years of friendship and spending the summers working together we finally started dating!
When did you get engaged?
We got engaged July 28th, 2015
Tell us about the proposal.
Jared proposed in Wildwood NJ, where I have vacationed with my family every year. It was his first time in Wildwood and the whole family was extremely excited to share all of the experiences of being at the Jersey Shore. My dad kept telling Jared how tall the Ferris wheel on the boardwalk was and how he needed to make sure to ride it. In all the years that my family has vacationed in Wildwood, we rarely ever ride the Ferris wheel. My mother, not knowing the circumstances of the Ferris wheel ride, rallied all of the cousins to ride. When we finally stopped at the top Jared got down on one knee (the Ferris wheel was that big!) and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. When we finally got off of the Ferris wheel we walked over to the rest of our family (20 people to be exact) and told them the news.
