I met Joelle and Carter at a past wedding I had photographed. When they began their wedding planning process they remembered that wedding and knew that they wanted to work with me for their own wedding! I always love when couples are referred to me, or see me working at a wedding, because then we already have a connection. They are able to see behind the scenes and what goes into creating their wedding imagery.
Joelle and Carter got married at the Woodbound Inn, in Rindge, NH. It is such a lovely location that has so much to offer. We started off the day in the bridal suite with all the girls getting ready. Once the girls finished getting ready we went outside to be whisked away by a horse drawn carriage to their lakefront ceremony. As we were heading down the sky was darkening in the distance and the sound of thunder was booming. The forecast for the whole day was that it was supposed to be torrential downpours, thunder lightning and even hail! So we knew we needed everything to happen on time to beat the storm. Once on the beach the two joined hands and had a beautiful and touching ceremony — even with a reference to the book/movie Twilight. They sealed their vows with a kiss and just like that, they were married.
After the ceremony I created their creative portraits down by the beach and in the woods behind the Inn. I was astonished by the lack of rain with such a foreboding sky and the roaring sound of thunder. We then assembled inside for toasts, dances, and so much fun to be had! We sealed the end of the night with a huge sparkler send off.
After I finished packing up all my gear and just started to head out the rains finally came. Perfect timing :)

How did you decide on your ceremony/reception location?
We knew the Woodbound Inn was the location we wanted because Carter proposed on Mount Monadnock and we wanted Mount Monadnock behind us. We choose the perfect spot right in the beach of Contoocook Lake.
When did you know he/she was the one?
I knew Carter was the one when we started dating and our very first kiss.
Carter knew I was the one when I was getting out of bed and slipped and hit my head on the corner and started crying. Then he knew he wanted to be the one to take care of me for the rest of me life.
What’s the one thing you love most about each other?
The one thing we love most about each other is that our love is unconditional no matter what.
Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you were looking forward to on your wedding day?
Spending our special day with family and friends.
What are your honeymoon plans?
We are going to Palm Beach Florida — Leaving the day after our wedding.
