Location | Kancamagus Highway, White Mountains NH
Jen & Dennis had their engagement session in the White Mountains of New Hampshire which made this a destination engagement session for the two of them. They live together in Texas but drove all the way up to New Hampshire for their engagement session. They couldn’t have timed it better. The fall foliage in the White Mountains was at its absolute peak — which is exactly what they were looking for.
It is amazing how well it all came together. We set the date months in advance. When the day came it was absolutely perfect — clear, warm, beautiful blue sky fall autumn. We met at the Albany Covered Bridge in Albany, NH, just off of the Kancamagus Highway. We created some images on the rocks of the Swift River before heading into the woods to hike the Boulder Loop trail just a bit. After hiking the trail we headed back to the riverbed for some more photos now that the light was lower and lighting up all the colors in the trees better.
I hope you enjoy Jen and Dennis’ Engagement session!
How long have you been together?
Dennis and I have been together going on 3 years in December.
Tell us how you first met.
We were introduced through a mutual friend that I worked with. He was in NH at the time and I was in TX. About a month before he visited we started talking via text. I went to the airport in Austin to pick him up with the couple that introduced us. He visited for a week and we got to know each other better in person.
Tell us about the proposal.
After being apart for 4 months, Dennis made the decision to move to Texas. We drove from NH to TX at the end of January in his mustang with his dog Buddy.
After dating for 2 and a half years Dennis proposed the day after my birthday. He had it planned out for months & when the weather had been terrible leading up to that day he started to get worried. We hiked to the top of Enchanted Rock which had been Closed up until that afternoon due to flooding. The stars aligned & his plan worked out. Once at the top of Enchanted Rock, he motioned to the hill country skyline and said “Texas.” Then he grabbed my hand and said “MY Texas.” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him
