Liz and Mike got married at Stowe Mountain Resort just as fall was beginning to start. Stowe is not only a ski mountain in the winter. It is also a location for beautiful weddings ceremonies and receptions in the summer, along with many other fun activities. Liz and Mike got ready at the Spruce Camp lodge at the base of the mountain, but that’s not where the ceremony was… It was at the top of the mountain on the Cliff House deck. That was one the most amazing view for a wedding ceremony I have ever had the chance to photograph. Completely awe inspiring. It looked out over the entire mountain, ski village, valley below and all the mountains surrounding it.
After a beautiful ceremony we explored the summit and surrounding views. I positioned Liz and Mike (safely) on the edge of a lookout where it would just be them and the expanse of the sky in the background. The sky was looking quite dramatic as there was a storm about to roll in. It held off just long enough for us to create the images we wanted and then head back to the cliff house to get picked up by the gondola. We rode down in the gondola together, taking in the view one more time. It was then time to get to cocktail hour at Spruce Camp’s Great Room and enjoy the rest of the night’s festivities.

How did you decide on your ceremony/reception location?
Our family and friends are spread out all over the country with quite a few people from Massachusetts, Maine & Upstate New York. Stowe was a perfect destination for our guests as it offered a centralized location. We love Vermont and the mountains and it just felt very us. We also knew we wanted to get married in the early fall so all of the pieces came together for September 17th at Stowe.
Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you were looking forward to on your wedding day?
We were so thrilled to have all of our family and friends together in one location. We felt so blessed to have everyone travel to Vermont and come together to celebrate. It was a blast!
I hope that you have enjoyed Liz and Mike’s story and their wedding photos! They were a blast to work with for their wedding and their engagement session. If you haven’t seen that then definitely take a look!
