Brittany and Garrett had a beautiful day for a wedding — just the right mix of clouds and sun. They got married at Stonewall Farm in Keene, NH, a wonderfully rustic wedding venue. After the ceremony, while we were doing the creative portraits, Brittany’s mom found a four leaf clover — how lucky is that? Once the dinner and dances were over, we were able to sneak outside for a couple night time shots with Stonewall Farm as the backdrop. It was a truly beautiful wedding.

Tell us how you first met.
We first met at the Keene Pumpkin Festival in 2010. After a few months passed, we reconnected and began talking and hanging out as much as possible. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to be with each other as much as possible, and that our relationship was going to be something special.
When did you know he/she was the one?
From the beginning of our relationship, we were learning to adapt to the long distance relationship. We knew we had something special when we found ourselves spending endless hours Skyping every night of the week, even though we both had work early in the mornings. What we both think made us know for sure that we were “the one” for each other was being able to be at different colleges, yet our relationship, trust, and devotion grew stronger with each day! We knew that if we could handle the challenges of distance and college together, even being so far apart, that we could conquer anything together!
Tell us about the proposal.
Garrett had planned to have a guys day out, playing golf & having some drinks, with our close friends, Matt & Joe. After work, I headed toward Crozet, VA with Ashley to meet Lindsey at Kings Family Vineyard for drinks before the guys arrived to meet us. Once the guys arrived, we headed to dinner at Three Notch’d Grill in Crozet, where I thought we were just having a special dinner for Garrett’s birthday. Joe said we should make a toast and Garrett said he would do it. He thanked each couple for being our family away from home and for their friendships and then Joe said “cheers.” A little upset that he didn’t mention me, I said “you’re not even going to say anything about me.” Matt, Ashley, Joe, and Lindsey agreed, with a slight chuckle (as they all knew), and told him to say something about me and this is where it all began. He told me how thankful he was to have me in his life and that he thanked me for “doing his laundry, making his lunch, & folding his underwear.” He then got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and asked the question every girl dreams of hearing: “Will you marry me?” I SAID YES!!!!
What’s the one thing you love most about each other?
We fortunately share a lot of similarities but also have a lot of characteristics that make us our own individuals. We are both very competitive and have strong personalities, yet we balance each other out perfectly, which allows us to live a fun and exciting life. But most of all, we love being each other’s best friend!
Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Besides getting married, we are both excited to be able to see everything come together, since we’ve been planning from three different states the past year. We are also extremely excited to spend time with our family and friends, as they mean the world to us, and to just take a step back, embrace each other, and enjoy our special day!
