Location | Downtown Peterborough, NH
While planning for Brittany and Peter’s engagement session we brainstormed a number of different ideas and locations to really capture their personalities and have a fun afternoon. For example, one idea was to play a round of mini golf! We eventually decided on taking a stroll through downtown Peterborough, creating photos along the way and ending up at Ava Marie’s for some ice cream.
It was such a lovely summer afternoon for a walk and the perfect evening for some ice cream :)
I hope you enjoy their engagement session as much as I did creating their images, and as much as they enjoyed the amazing Ava Marie’s ice cream ;)
Congratulations to Brittany and Peter!
How long have you been together?
We have been together since late 2013. It was hard to tell when our friendship started to take the form of something else, so we agreed on a date solely for the sake of celebrating anniversaries – December 28.
Tell us how you first met.
We first met through work, at Domino’s. I worked inside, tirelessly crafting pizzas made with love, and Peter was a delivery boy *swoon*. I don’t think Pete muttered more than a couple sentences in his first month. We started working the same shifts and bonded over our mutual hatred of waking up before noon. We worked high-pressure shifts that required constant communication. Between my need for perfection and Pete’s uncanny ability to multitask (thanks to years of video games), we developed an impressive team mentality. I think this set the foundation for our relationship.
When did you get engaged?
Pete proposed on October 2, 2016.
Tell us about the proposal.
We went to Elm City Brewery where we had our first date three years prior – this “date” involved me giving Pete a list of all the reasons it would be best if we kept our relationship platonic (even though it was clear I didn’t believe a word I was saying.) Thankfully Pete is a horrible listener and spent the next few months sending me cat GIFS and presenting me with raspberry caramels from Ava Marie’s. So…yup, my heart was totally his. I panicked at the thought of him proposing in a public place. Pete could sense my fear, and we got in the car and started heading home. His improvisational skills are on the same level as his listening skills, and he asked me to marry him in the car. WHILE HE WAS DRIVING. I think I said yes, cutting him off because of course, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, but I also really wanted to make it home so that we could binge watch Futurama, and dream of freezing ourselves until the year 3000.
