Whenever I need my haircut I go to Nick at Moda Suo in Keene, NH. Nick is a super cool guy, and an amazing hairdresser. I love how he is an artisan creating a piece of artwork for you, rather than the robotic cut and styling of a more traditional hair salon.
In all our conversations while Nick was cutting my hair we would discuss photography — tips and tricks, photo ideas and things of that nature. Along with being an awesome hairdresser, Nick is also a pretty good photographer. He photographs many of his clients haircuts and then posts them on his Instagram. At one of my more recent visits he asked me if I knew of any models who would be willing to let him cut their hair and take photos of them. He was looking for a girl with long and fair hair — I immediately thought of Brynn. I have worked with Brynn before on commercial shoots, modeling clothing, and I knew she had great blond hair. After showing Nick some photos of Brynn he agreed that she would be perfect for his artistic vision.
While Nick was going to take some photos of Brynn once he was done with her cut and style, I suggested that I come over to the studio and capture the whole photo story of Brynn’s hair transformation.

To really showcase the haircut we put Brynn up against a plain background — void of any distracting background elements. I used a single light with a beauty dish modifier to capture the fierceness in her with this new look.
My favorite thing about this cut is that Brynn can go from a super nice and sweet appearance…
To something fierce. Just by changing her facial expressions.
