Location | Boston, MA
It was a stunning fall day to explore Boston for Brooke & Trevor’s engagement session. We started with a walk down Commonwealth Ave, a picturesque tree-lined street. This lead us to the Boston Public Garden, which was full of beautiful autumn backdrops and photo opportunities.
Next, we headed to the famous Acorn Street, a quaint little cobblestone street. I loved how narrow the road was, making for a cozy and intimate location, with vines growing along the old brick walls on either side.
Finally, after a quick outfit change, we strolled along the Harborwalk at Fan Pier Park. The Harborwalk gave us a magnificent view of the cityscape behind us. We had just about wrapped up the session, but we couldn’t resist capturing a “socially-distant” masked up photo to document the COVID restrictions that we are all having to deal with.
I hope you enjoy Brooke and Trevor’s Engagement session!
How long have you been together?
Brooke and I have been together for almost 9 years now. However, of the 9 years, we did 6 as long distance. The long-distance was never easy but we made it work! We always have told the other to chase their dreams and that’s what we have done, supporting the other the whole way through.
Tell us how you first met.
I was 14 and Brooke was 15. We were put in the same class together in high school. We first bonded over iPod Touches and peanut butter marshmallow sandwiches. We had remained friends until Brooke’s final semester of high school when I asked her on a few dates. On our first date, I was 17 (with braces) and she was 18, we went to play laser tag lol. After a few dates, I asked her to be my girlfriend.
When did you get engaged?
July 3rd, 2020 in Atlanta.
Tell us about the proposal.
The proposal was a long process but we were both excited how it turned out. I knew for a while I wanted to ask Brooke and had a few different ideas of how I wanted to do it. However, COVID made the proposal a little difficult. Due to restrictions, I did most ring shopping over the phone and decided on a jeweler in GA, so I had family members going and looking at different options for us. Next, the actual proposal was originally going to happen in Bali, but with COVID I had to replan. We were planning to head back to Georgia to see family for July 4th so after a lot of coordinating and planning with friends and family, we had a plan set. With COVID restrictions, finding the right spot in Georgia was tough but we decided to run with Georgia Techs campus (one of Brooke’s favorite places in the world). Brooke walked the campus with her sister without any idea what was about to happen. They met me at the top of “freshman hill” and we walked to a spot called Tech Tower. From there I got down on my knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with me.
