Location | Otter Brook Lake, Keene, NH
I photographed Katie & Doug’s Engagement session at Otter Brook Lake in Keene, NH. I always love to shoot at Otter Brook as there is a lot of variety in landscapes all in a short walking distance. We started the session by walking through the grass fields while we made our way down the the water. The beach alongside the lake is surrounded by tree covered hills with their leaves just beginning to change into their fall colors. The lake was perfectly still which reflected the hillside in the water, making a beautiful backdrop. After that, they changed into their second outfit for some more photos in a grove of pine trees.
We ended the session at the brook that the park is named after. I always love to end sessions at Otter Brook by the river as it is such a dynamic spot. Each way you turn there is a completely different look — from patches of ferns alongside the river bed, to a leaf covered hill, to a cracked rock wall. Any direction I point my camera will result in a compelling backdrop for my engaged couples.
I am looking forward to photographing their wedding next July at Hallelujah Farm in Chesterfield, NH.
I hope you enjoy Katie and Doug’s Engagement session!
How long have you been together?
Doug and I started dating 5 1/2 years ago ( March 2011).
Tell us how you first met.
We first met through his cousin Kayla Bleau! Kayla invited me to her Aunt Tammy’s 40th birthday party. Doug saw me and he knew he needed to say hello! From that point on it turned into a friendship, and then dating 6 months later!
When did you get engaged?
We got engaged February 22, 2016.
Tell us about the proposal.
The proposal took place at his Aunt Tammy’s house. We went to her house to what I thought was just a normal dinner get together. But little did I know Doug had something else planned that night!
Something else to add.
One very special person that will be missing on our special day is my sister! She will be there in spirit, but I still think of my sister everyday :) JLE <3
