Emily and Thatcher had a beautiful day for their wedding on the last weekend of the summer! Emily did a first look with her dad and it was such a special and emotional moment. After all the girls finished getting ready we explored downtown Keene and created some great photos. It was then off to Stonewall Farm for their ceremony. They had a lovely ceremony and had a special tradition of watering and adding soil to a tree with both of their parents. Once the reception began the party was on! There was great dancing and wonderful memories made :)
Emily and Thatcher’s Wedding Date | 9/20/2015
Tell us how you first met.
We met at my sister’s memorial day BBQ at my parents’ house. I was sitting in the livingroom staying out of Mandy’s hair when I saw a really handsome guy walking up the walkway. I had heard her mention Thatcher in the past but had never met him. Thatcher didn’t even know Mandy had a sister. I just had to meet to him so I went outside to “grab some food” and the rest is history.
When did you know he/she was the one?
Neither of us can pinpoint a specific moment in time when we knew — it’s like it was never a question. I went to Syracuse for a semester right after we started dating and this time away solidified the fact that we didn’t want to be apart ever again.
Tell us about the proposal.
Thatcher proposed on Christmas morning 2014. I was half opening my stocking half watching White Christmas and I told him to stop watching me and open his own stocking. I saved the box in the toe of the stocking for last thinking it was the diamond earrings I had been asking for. I finally opened the box and it wasn’t earrings, it was a diamond ring! Thatcher got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said “YES!”
What’s the one thing you love most about each other?
Emily: I love his natural sense of humor and charm. He makes me smile, even when I don’t want to and he can make everything better with just a hug.
Thatcher: I love how she puts others first — she takes care of me and always supports me… And she’s cute.
Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
We are looking forward to being surrounded by the people we love most.
I hope that you have enjoyed Emily and Thatcher’s story and their wedding photos! They were a blast to work with for their wedding and their engagement session. If you haven’t seen that then definitely take a look!
