Location | Keene, NH
It was a chilly day, in this unseasonably warm winter we are having for Erin & Corey’s engagement session. We started the session on the rail trail in Keene where there are huge ice floes on either side of the trail. The ice walls made for a very cool background. After sliding around on the icy trail we headed to Otter Brook Dam as the sun began to peek out through the clouds to complete a fantastic engagement session.
We are all super excited for their upcoming wedding next July, on Cape Cod, MA. Now let’s get into the photos and how their love story came to be!
I hope you enjoy Erin and Corey’s Engagement session!
How long have you been together?
We have been together for over 5 and a half years (will be almost 6 years when we are married.)
Tell us how you first met.
We first met at Cross Country pre-season training camp. Corey was a senior at Keene State and cross country captain and I was a freshman just starting at Keene State. It was Halloween weekend at Keene and we had been at a Cross Country meet all day. We got back and my friends and I had no beverages for the evening. I texted him to ask if he had gone yet and he said he had already made a run over. I begged and he said he would only go if I went with him. I did and we just really hit it off. That night we hung out for the whole evening and ended up dancing in the PMD (Rockstar) basement. He first caught my eye because he was tall and I thought he was really handsome. He used to wear these little American Flag short shorts. I don’t know why, but I liked it. My parents were concerned that I was dating a senior, but I knew that it was all fine!
When did you get engaged?
We got engaged December 28, 2014.
Tell us about the proposal.
We had both gone home to spend Christmas with our families. We decided that the night we got back from that, we would celebrate our own Christmas together. It was agreed upon that we would both get each other the same amount of presents- because it just isn’t fair if someone shows you up and gets one more than you! Well, Corey went and showed me up. I went to sit by the Christmas tree and I saw the even number of presents – until I noticed that there was a decently large box in the back that I knew I clearly did not wrap. But what girl can say no to a surprise gift?! First, I opened the advent calendar that his mom put together for me. Then we proceeded to hand each other each of our presents and opening at the same time because that is tradition. Finally, we got to the big box and after I unwrapped and opened it, I saw a smaller box sitting on top of a beautiful green blanket inside. My heart was beating so hard (I kind of felt like I blacked out for a second) and of course I started to ball my eyes out like a baby. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course, I had to say yes!
