Tell us how you first met.
Kelly: We have a pretty good story of how we met, actually…my best friend and David’s best friend got married and I was the MOH and he was the BM! We met at the wedding in 2010 and because of the distance, nothing really came about. Then, our friends had a baby and we were both asked to be the Godparents. After that we started talking a little more, and then I came down to FL to visit David and it all just clicked!
When did you know he/she was the one?
Kelly: I honestly knew from fairly early on that David was the one. I remember when we first starting dating thinking how amazing it was to have found someone so similar yet so different from me. We balance each other out and make a really great team. I simply cannot imagine spending my life with anyone else!
David: I knew she was the one when I saw the kind of person she was inside! Always caring about others! She had some of the best qualities of any woman I had ever met and was unlike anyone I had ever known! I honestly waited almost 10 years with no steady relationships or ones that ended very quickly because of the standards I had set even though they were too high already she exceeded everything I had ever wanted in a wife and it didn’t take me long to realize she was the most amazing woman ever and I was going to spend the rest of my life with her!
Tell us about the proposal.
Kelly: I moved down to Florida July 2012 and then David surprised me with a cruise for our one year anniversary. A few days before our actual anniversary, David got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! He was planning on proposing to me at the big show on formal night and last-minute changed his mind, because he didn’t want to start things off on the wrong foot and thought that I might be mad about being asked in front of the entire cruise ship! So he decided to have the ring put on the dessert plate and had the kitchen write “Will you marry me” on the plate instead.
David: I wanted to do a grand proposal on stage at the main show on a cruise even though I knew she would want something more intimate so at the last second I changed my mind and did it at dinner on formal night of the cruise and had the waiter bring out a dessert with the ring and the plate said will you marry me. I got down on one knee and told her what she meant to me and that I wanted her to be my wife and she said yes!!!!
What’s the one thing you love most about each other?
Kelly: I love David’s sense of humor most of all. There are so many other qualities that I love about David, but the fact that he can make me laugh and smile is awesome!
Theses are David’s exact words: Lee ONE thing? Lol! It’s her heart! It’s sooo freaking big and full of love for everyone that it just makes me have to improve myself and become a better person just to be at a fraction of the person she is! She makes everyone around her a better person and I’ve never met anyone that can do that all the time!! And she’s smoking hot!!!!!! Lol
Besides getting married, what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Kelly: I’m looking forward to spending the day with family and friends, celebrating the start of a most amazing chapter of my life!
David: Seeing her walk down the aisle for the first time!! And since it already happened before I typed this I’ll say I was absolutely right because even though I prepared for an emotional reaction nothing could have prepared me for the feeling and excitement of seeing the most B E A…utiful woman walking towards me and about to become my wife!
